21 April 2026 - Led by Resident Election and Registration Board (RERB) Chairperson Ma. Theresa M. Alders, together with members, Atty. Eunika Lesli R. Leyva-Tiongco and Ms. Rocylyn T. De Leon, convened its first hearing and approved 428 overseas voting applications for registration, certification, correction of entries, and transfers filed with the Consulate General from 01 December 2025 to 31 March 2026.

Consul General Melanie Rita B. Diano received Mr. Sangwoo Hong, the Republic of Korea’s newly arrived Consul General in Chicago, at the Philippine Consulate on 21 April 2026. Consul General Hong assumed his post last month.

Diano met with Wisconsin State Representative Angelito Tenorio at the Wisconsin State Capitol on 17 April 2026, in line with its continuing efforts to strengthen engagement with Filipino-American leaders and communities in the U.S. Midwest.
On 13 April 2026, Atty. Zenia Salles, President of Filipino American Lawyers Association of Chicago (FALA-Chicago), called on Consul General Melanie Rita B. Diano to explore potential areas of cooperation in support of the Filipino community in the U.S. Midwest. The Consul General was joined by Consul Melvin Almonguera.
The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago commemorated Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor) on 10 April 2026 through a solemn and meaningful program honoring the courage, sacrifice, and enduring legacy of Filipino and American soldiers during the Second World War.

9 March 2026 (Friday), Chicago - The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago launched the “80 for 80” Project, which aims to document and recognize Filipino-American women’s work in the midwest United States that raise the profile of the Philippines, as well as benefit Filipinos and Filipino-Americans. The “80 for 80” Project is a brainchild of the Consulate’s Gender and Development Section in support of the 2026 National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) and the 80th anniversary of Philippines-United States diplomatic friendship.

CHICAGO, 24 November 2025 – In line with its commitment to strengthen and modernize consular service delivery, the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago signed a subscription agreement on the implementation of an electronic payment system with Cliqbux LLC on 24 November 2025 at the Kalayaan Hall of the Consulate. The digital payment platform will enable the Consulate to offer secure, convenient, and streamlined electronic payment options to the public.
