CHICAGO PCG JOINS CELEBRATION OF SIMBANG GABI ON THE FOURTH SUNDAY OF ADVENT AT ST. PETER DAMIAN CATHOLIC CHURCH
On 21 December 2025, the Philippine Consulate General joined the celebration of the Simbang Gabi during the Fourth Sunday of Advent at the St. Peter Damian Catholic Church in Bartlett, Illinois. Organized by the St. Peter Damian Catholic Church Filipino Group, and in collaboration with the Chicago Healthcare Alliance Lions Club, the Consulate General was represented by Atty. Eunika Lesli R. Leyva-Tiongco, Ms. Rocylyn T. De Leon, Ms. Cheryl M. Navarro and Mr. Ric A. Miranda.
Attended by more than 100 Filipino-American community members residing in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, the main celebrant during the Holy Mass was Fr. Rene Mangahas.
The choir sang Filipino Christmas carols prior to the celebration. A festive fellowship immediately followed after the mass where Filipino music and delicacies were shared as part of the Christmas traditions. END
