A delegation from the Philippine Consulate General, headed by Consul Melvin Almonguera, participated in the celebration of Simbang Gabi at St. Gregory the Great church along North Paulina Street in Chicago on 20 December 2025. He was joined by Ms. Jekelyn Esguerra and Atty. Mark Arinquin.
Organized by Filipino-American religious groups, the Simbang Gabi was celebrated by Fr. Alejandro Lopez, Pastor of Mary, Mother of God Parish. The Mass brought together over 200 faithful, including Filipinos from across the Metro Chicago area, in a shared spirit of prayer and community.
For the Filipino and Filipino-American communities in the US, Simbang Gabi is a meaningful tradition they have brought with them, helping keep their faith and connection to home alive as they prepare for Christmas. END
