On 13 April 2026, Atty. Zenia Salles, President of Filipino American Lawyers Association of Chicago (FALA-Chicago), called on Consul General Melanie Rita B. Diano to explore potential areas of cooperation in support of the Filipino community in the U.S. Midwest. The Consul General was joined by Consul Melvin Almonguera.

Atty. Salles presented FALA-Chicago’s programs and activities for the year and expressed the organization’s readiness to support the initiatives of the Consulate General, particularly in the areas of legal outreach and the provision of legal assistance. The Consul General welcomed the organization’s continued commitment to strengthen its engagement with the Filipino community and expressed appreciation for its role in enhancing access to legal information and providing related services.
