Consul General Melanie Rita B. Diano welcomed Mr. Rigor Pantollano, Social Security System (SSS) Representative based in New York, at the Consulate General on 18 May 2026. The visit marked Mr. Pantollano’s first official trip to Chicago since assuming his post in May 2025.

During the courtesy call, Mr. Pantollano discussed the agency’s ongoing efforts to expand and enhance the delivery of its overseas services. He also highlighted its continued initiatives to reach more SSS members and beneficiaries in the region through information campaigns and outreach activities.

The Consul General underscored the importance of ensuring continued access of the Filipino and Filipino-American communities in the Midwest to SSS services and programs. She likewise expressed the Consulate General’s support for collaborative initiatives and invited the agency to participate in the activities commemorating the 80th anniversary of PHL-U.S. diplomatic relations.

SSS Representative Pantollano likewise rendered frontline services to clients at the Consulate General on the same day and during the Consulate’s outreach mission in Southfield, Michigan on 16 May 2026.
