The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, represented by Consul Ella Karina Mitra, joined the Philippine Independence Week Committee’s (PIWC) Senior Day held on Saturday, 16 May 2026, at the Rizal Center.

The event gathered senior members of the Filipino American community for a day of fellowship, entertainment, and community engagement. Organized annually by the Philippine Independence Week Committee, the program also featured services and activities for senior citizens, including free health check-ups and wellness-related assistance.

Consul Mitra also reaffirmed the Consulate’s continued support for initiatives that promote the welfare and active participation of Filipino American seniors in community life. END.
