30 May 2026, Chicago - The Philippine Consulate General of Chicago (“Chicago PCG”) joined the Filipinos Mary, Mother of God Parish on its 39th annual Mayflower and Santacruzan. A Holy Mass was first celebrated by Pastor Fr. Alejandro Lopez, followed by a procession in Andersonville participated in by hermanos, hermanas, salagas, parishioners and guests. The celebration ended with a reception and cultural presentations.
Consul Alders, in her short remarks, thanked the Filipinos of Mary, Mother of God Parish for its faithful celebration of santacruzan. She also encouraged eligible Filipinos to register for the 2028 Philippine Overseas Elections, and invited them to be part of succeeding Very Important Pinoy (VIP) Tours, the latter of which will be on 12-21 July 2026 in Metro Manila, Dumaguete and Cebu.
