15 June 2026 - The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago (“Chicago PCG”) joined the Filipino American Association of Michiana (FAAM) in its celebration of Philippine Independence Day at the Battell Community Center in Mishawaka, Indiana last 13 June 2026.
Consul Ma. Theresa Alders and Mr. Martyn Orcine, economic assistant and protocol officer, represented Chicago PCG.
Councilwoman-at-large Rachel Tomas Morgan of South Bend, Indiana, was a guest speaker. Consul Alders, in her remarks, encouraged eligible Filipino voters to register for the 2028 Philippine Overseas Elections. She also informed FAAM officers and members of the 80th anniversary of Philippines-United States diplomatic friendship, as well as the Very Important Pinoy Tour, which in 2027 will be held in February.
