CONSULATE GENERAL LAUDS COMMUNITY SERVICE, FILIPINO VALUES AT ZAMNAI GAWAD PARANGAL 2026

The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, represented by Consul Melvin Almonguera, joined the Zamboanga del Norte Association of Illinois (ZAMNAI), awardees, and members of the Filipino community at the organization’s Gawad Parangal 2026 held at Chateau Ritz in Niles, Illinois on 19 July 2026.

On behalf of the Consulate General, Consul Almonguera congratulated ZAMNAI, led by President Joshua Bicoy, for honoring individuals whose service has made a difference in the community and reflects the Filipino tradition of bayanihan and service to others. He also welcomed ZAMNAI’s recognition of young leaders and commended the organization for its continued partnership with the Consulate General in promoting Filipino culture and bringing the community together.

Founded in 1989, ZAMNAI brings together Filipinos in Chicagoland with roots in Zamboanga del Norte and promotes fellowship, cultural heritage, community development, and charitable initiatives. END
