The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago showed its solidarity to the Filipino-American community in Skokie during the 2025 Skokie 4th of July Parade held last 04 July in Skokie. Led by Consul Melvin Almonguera, a group of Consulate General officials and personnel cheered as the Filipino-American community contingent paraded in Filipino traditional clothes.
The parade was a showcase of community spirit, cultural pride and camaraderie participated in by government officials, businesses and various communities in said village. Before the parade started, Skokie Mayor Ann Tennes gamely posed for photos with the different contingents.
The Philippine Consulate remains committed to supporting Filipino and Filipino Americans in enhancing cultural ties across the US Midwest. END
