The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, represented by Consul Melvin Almonguera and Protocol Officer Martyn Asker Orcine, manned a country booth on the sidelines of a business conference organized by the Asia-Pacific Business Association of Indiana (APBAI) held at The Heritage Group Center in Indianapolis, Indiana on 05 November 2025. The APBAI, formerly the America China Society of Indiana (ACSI), is a non-profit business group that fosters connections between Indiana and the Asia-Pacific region.
Dubbed as “Global Supply Chain in Flux: Implications for Indiana,” the event was attended some forty (40) APBAI members and event sponsors. It explored how Indiana businesses navigate current trade regulations and discussed supply chain resilience and digital tools adoption.
The Consulate General of Indonesia in Chicago, the trade/investment offices of Malaysia and Hong Kong in Chicago also put up their own country booths. The Philippine booth offered insights on the country’s investment climate. It also distributed “Doing Business in the Philippines” brochures, outlining key procedures and regulations for foreign investors. END
