PH CONSUL GENERAL MEETS WITH OH SECRETARY OF STATE

Consul General Melanie Rita B. Diano met virtually with OH Secretary of State Frank LaRose at his office in downtown Columbus, Ohio on 07 February 2025. Joining the meeting in-person were Kimberly Burns, Chief Operating Officer and Assistant Secretary of State; Grant Shaffer, Director of External Affairs & Deputy Assistant Secretary of State; and Jacob Cimperman, Public Affairs Coordinator.
The Consul General was accompanied by Consul Ella Karina Mitra, and PH Honorary Consul Susan Gumabao-Flores who joined the meeting virtually.
During the meeting, Consul General Diano and Secretary LaRose discussed topics of mutual interest, including election administration and the interests of the Filipino community in OH.
Consul General Diano expressed appreciation to Secretary LaRose for extending good treatment to the approximately 42,000 Filipinos living and working in Ohio, while Secretary LaRose acknowledged their significant contributions to the culture, society, and economic growth of OH.
Secretary LaRose also assured Consul General Diano of the continued support and assistance of his office to the Filipinos in OH, particularly on the functions of his office that are relevant to them, such as the authentication/apostillization of documents and granting of authority to do business in OH.END
