Chicago, 14 February 2022 – Consul General J. Susana V. Paez virtually met on 11 February 2022 with Ms. Leezel Tanglao, President of the Filipino Young Leaders Program (FYLPRO), to discuss ways to strengthen the partnership between the Consulate and FYLPRO. This comes on the heels of FYLPRO’s decision last year to expand the group’s membership to the general public after its immersion programs in 2020 and 2021 were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Consul General assured Ms. Tanglao of the Consulate’s continued support to FYLPRO’s programs and initiatives. Both sides agreed to work together and come up with projects and activities for the benefit of the Filipino and Filipino-American community in the US Midwest.


Joining the meeting were Consul Ryan Pondoc, Cultural Officer Richard Osea, FYLPRO Vice President John Paul Ferrer, Secretary Jean Gavina and Treasurer Fred Docdocil.
