CHICAGO 25 April 2023 – Filipinos and Filipino-Americans in the states of Kansas and Missouri availed of consular services during the one-day outreach mission held at the Filipino Cultural Center, 9810 W 79th St, Overland Park, Kansas 66204 (some 523 miles away from the Consulate General) on 22 April 2023. The venue was only five (05) miles away from Kansas’ border with Missouri.
Led by Consul General J. Susana V. Paez, the Kansas Outreach team provided a total of 215 passport, dual-citizenship and other services to consular clients residing in Kansas, Missouri and other nearby states. The outreach team also offered Overseas Voting (OV) Registration services and processed 141 OV applications.
The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago conducted the event in partnership with the officers and members of the Filipino Association of Greater Kansas City (FA-GKC). Headed by Ms. Evie Tan-Todd, the organization assisted the team by providing promotional and logistical support.
Those who availed of the consular and OV services during the event expressed their appreciation to the team for holding the event in Kansas. This meant that they no longer have to drive for eleven (11) hours to the Consulate General in Chicago.
Outreach missions are regularly held to bring the Consulate’s consular services closer to Filipino and Filipino-American communities in US Midwestern states, outside of Illinois, under the Consulate’s jurisdiction. This outreach activity was Post’s first for the year.
