CHICAGO PCG CONDUCTS FINAL LOCKDOWN AND SEALING OF OVERSEAS VOTING AND COUNTING SYSTEM (OVCS) AHEAD OF THE 2025 PHILIPPINE NATIONAL ELECTIONS

11 April 2025, Chicago, Illinois - The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago successfully conducted its Overseas Voting and Counting System (OVCS) Final Lockdown and Sealing (FLS) on 11 April 2025 at the Consulate’s Kalayaan Hall.

The Final Lockdown and Sealing (FLS) was conducted by members of Post’s Special Board of Election Inspectors (SBEI), led by SBEI Chairperson, Consul Ma. Theresa M. Alders, assisted by Poll Clerk Francis C. Galang, and witnessed by Third Member Consul Melvin C. Almonguera. To provide transparency to the audience, the FLS process was mirrored to a television (TV) screen.

The conduct of the FLS is to ensure that the general election is not yet initialized and guarantee that the OVCS contains zero (0) votes prior to the start of the election. It also ensures that only those voters who were able to pre-enroll will be able to access their ballots during the voting period.

Online voting starts on 13 April 2025 at 8:00 AM (US Central Standard Time) and will end on 12 May 2025 at 7:00 PM (Philippine Standard Time).END
