CHICAGO 10 December 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago conducted a consular outreach mission on 07 December 2024 at the Philippine Cultural Community Center in Indiana with address at 4141 S East St, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227 (some 191 miles away from the Consulate). The event was the Consulate’s fourth outreach mission, and the last for the year, following those held in Parma, Ohio on 16 March 2024, in Maplewood, Minnesota on 20 April 2024 and in Springfield, Missouri on 18 May 2024.
The Consulate General’s team rendered a total of 95 services, mainly for passport and
dual citizenship, to consular clients residing in Indiana and other nearby states during the one-day event. Applicants who availed of the consular services expressed their appreciation to the team, since this meant that they no longer have to drive for more than four (04) hours to the Consulate General in Chicago.
The consular mission was conducted in partnership with the Barangay Club of Indiana,
headed by Dr. Maria Solito, and with the Philippine Cultural Community Center, headed
by Mr. Philip Smith. The groups assisted the team through promotional and logistical
support.
The Consulate’s team also took the opportunity to raise awareness of the Philippine
Government’s 18-day campaign to end violence against women (VAW) running from 25 November to 12 December 2024. Tote bags, with the 2024 campaign design, were handed out to some female outreach clients during the activity.
Consular missions are regularly held to bring the Consulate General’s services closer to the Filipino and Filipino-American communities in US Midwestern states under the
Consulate’s jurisdiction, outside of Illinois. For updates on consular outreach activities, Filipino and Filipino-American communities in the Midwest may visit the Consulate General’s official website (www.chicagopcg.com) and its Facebook page
