CHICAGO 17 October 2023 – The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago proceeded to Bismarck, North Dakota on 14 October 2023 to conduct its last consular mission for the year and a field Overseas Voting (OV) Registration. The one-day event was held at the Bismarck Veterans Memorial Library, 515 N 5th St, Bismarck, ND 58501 (some 835 miles away from the Consulate General).
The Consulate General’s team, headed by Consul General J. Susana V. Paez, provided a total of 135 passport, dual-citizenship and other services to consular clients residing in North Dakota and other nearby states. In addition, the team also processed 102 OV Registration applications.
Those who availed of the consular and OV services during the event expressed their appreciation, since this meant that they no longer have to drive for thirteen (13) hours to the Consulate General in Chicago, or take multiple flights due to the non-availability of a direct flight to the said city.
The outreach mission was conducted in partnership with the officers and members of the Fil-Am Outreach North Dakota (FOND). Led by its group coordinator, Ms. Marianette Valmocena, the organization assisted the team by providing promotional and logistical support.
Outreach missions are regularly held to bring the Consulate General’s consular services closer to Filipino and Filipino-American communities in US Midwestern states under the Consulate’s jurisdiction, outside of Illinois.
