CHICAGO, 24 November 2025 – In line with its commitment to strengthen and modernize consular service delivery, the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago signed a subscription agreement on the implementation of an electronic payment system with Cliqbux LLC on 24 November 2025 at the Kalayaan Hall of the Consulate. The digital payment platform will enable the Consulate to offer secure, convenient, and streamlined electronic payment options to the public.
The agreement was signed by Consul General Melanie Rita B. Diano on behalf of the Philippine Consulate General, and by Mr. Levi Bondoc, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Cliqbux.
Through this partnership, the Consulate will begin accepting e-payment (credit or debit cards using Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, and Google Pay) for in-person consular transactions. Clients choosing to pay via credit or debit card will be charged an additional 4% convenience fee, which will go directly to the e-payment service provider. The e-payment system is slated to go live on Monday, 01 December 2025.
Traditional payment methods - including cash, money orders, and manager’s checks - will continue to be available for clients who prefer these modes, without any additional fee. END
