PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL JOINS 18-DAY CAMPAIGN TO ELIMINATE VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN


24 November 2025 - To mark the 18-day campaign to eliminate Violence Against Women (VAW), Consul General Atty. Melanie Rita B. Diano led the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago with the All Women Cast Lupang Hinirang in a Flag Raising Ceremony.

The VAW Campaign annually starts on 25 November until 12 December. The PCG officers and staff during the flag raising ceremony, clad in orange, also ushered the Prayer to end Violence Against Women.

Chicago PCG is set to conduct several activities in commemoration of the campaign, including a seminar on empowering women about domestic and gender-based violence on 1 December, as well as an information campaign at the Consular area on women empowerment.
