CHICAGO, 17 November 2025 - Consul General Melanie Rita B. Diano met with Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon on 14 November 2025 at the Office of the Secretary of State in St. Paul. The meeting served as an opportunity for both sides to reaffirm the strong people-to-people connections between the Philippines and Minnesota and to identify areas for enhanced cooperation.

Chicago, 17 November 2025 - Consul General Melanie Rita B. Diano received a courtesy call from Global 1nspiration, Inc., a Wisconsin-based non-profit organization led by President Jeanette Jordee, at the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago on 12 November 2025.

The Philippine Consulate General is proud to support and be represented at the debut of Filipinx artist Maia Cruz Palileo’s solo exhibition held on 14 November 2025 at the Monique Meloche Gallery in Chicago, Illinois. The event was attended by Consul Ma. Theresa Alders and Cultural Officer Mary Joy Duran-Mortel, reaffirming the Consulate’s commitment to promoting Filipino artistry.

CHICAGO 17 November 2025 – The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago successfully carried out a consular outreach mission in Maplewood, Minnesota, bringing vital consular services closer to Filipino and Filipino-American residents across the state.

Consul General Melanie Rita Diano and Trade Commissioner Alma Argayoso of the Philippine Trade and Investment Center, New York (PTIC-NY) met with select members of the Filipino-American business community in Chicago last 12 November. Organized by Mr. Jan Paul Ferrer, Senior Vice President of Morgan Stanley and Board Member of the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Chicago (PACCGC), the gathering, held at the University Club of Chicago, convened some fifteen (15) Filipino business leaders to promote stronger collaboration and engagement within the community.

Consul General Melanie Rita Diano received Trade Commissioner Alma Argayoso of the Philippine Trade and Investment Center, New York (PTIC-NY) at the Consulate General on 12 November 2025. The visit marked Ms. Argayoso’s first official trip to Chicago since assuming her post last July at the PTIC-NY.

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS – Consul General Atty. Melanie Rita B. Diano, upon the invitation of Dr. Evelyn Natividad, outgoing President of the Philippine Engineers and Scientists Organization (PESO), graced the 52nd PESO Gala and Induction of Officers on 09 November 2025 at the Allegra Banquets in Schiller Park, Illinois. Consul General Diano was accompanied by Ms. Lizbeth Pangan and Mr. Richard Osea.

Consul General Melanie Rita B. Diano hosted Ms. Trisari Dyah Paramita, the Republic of Indonesia’s Consul General in Chicago, at the Philippine Consulate on 07 November 2025. The visit served as an introductory call following Consul General Paramita’s arrival in Chicago in September 2025.

The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, represented by Consul Melvin Almonguera and Protocol Officer Martyn Asker Orcine, manned a country booth on the sidelines of a business conference organized by the Asia-Pacific Business Association of Indiana (APBAI) held at The Heritage Group Center in Indianapolis, Indiana on 05 November 2025. The APBAI, formerly the America China Society of Indiana (ACSI), is a non-profit business group that fosters connections between Indiana and the Asia-Pacific region.

Consul General Melanie Rita Diano attended the Filipino Heritage Month celebrated by the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Chicago (PACCGC) and the Chicago Bulls on 04 November 2025 at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Chicago, IL - In celebration of National Children’s Month and Philippine Book Development Month, the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, in partnership with the Bernhard Moos Elementary School, with the assistance of Filipino Chicago Public Schools (CPS) teachers Mr. Daryll Baculio and Ms. Melody Danguilit, organized a special book reading at the Bernhard Moos Elementary School in Humboldt Park, IL on 30 October 2025.

The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, in partnership with Northern Illinois University’s (NIU) Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS) and with the support of the Asian American Resource Center, hosted a public lecture by Professor Ambeth R. Ocampo on 28 October 2025 at NIU in DeKalb, Illinois.
