JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Position: Consulate Driver
Place of Assignment: Philippine Consulate General in Chicago

The Consulate General of the Philippines invites qualified and interested individuals to apply for the position of Consulate Driver. The successful candidate will provide professional driving and vehicle support services to the Post.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Drive the Consul General from the official residence to the office; and to and from functions, events, meetings, and activities.
• Drive the Consulate personnel, and official guests to and from functions, events, meetings, and activities.
• Ensure safe, defensive, and lawful driving at all times, in full compliance with U.S. traffic laws, road safety regulations, and the Consulate’s security protocols.
• Plan and select efficient routes, taking into account traffic conditions, weather, and security considerations to ensure timely arrivals.
• Conduct daily pre- and post-trip inspections of official vehicles and promptly report any mechanical or safety issues.
• Ensure the regular cleaning, refueling, servicing, and preventive maintenance of assigned vehicles.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date vehicle logs, trip records, fuel consumption records, and maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate with authorized service centers for vehicle repairs, periodic maintenance, and emergency roadside assistance, when necessary.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Consul General, the Administrative Officer, or the immediate Supervisor.

Requirements:

• Must have legal status and authorization to work in the United States.
• Must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record.
• Must have no history or record of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Demonstrated ability to transport passengers in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner.
• Must have good interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work well with others.
• Must be dependable, discreet, and able to observe confidentiality.
• Preferably with a personal vehicle for commuting to and from the Consul General’s residence and the workplace.
• Preferably live within Highwood, Deerfield, Glencoe, Northbrook and other nearby areas.
