On 19 February 2025, Consul General Melanie Rita B. Diano met with select members of the Filipino-American Community leaders representing the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Chicago (PACCGC), Filipino Young Leaders Program (FYLPRO), International Society of Filipinos in Finance and Accounting (ISFFA), Association of Certified Home Health Agencies in Illinois (ACHHAI), Piyesta Pinoy and SamaSama Project. Organized by Mr. Jan Paul Ferrer, FYLPRO president and PACCGC board member, the meet-and-greet with the Filipino-Americans from the business and finance sector was held at Morgan Stanley’s office in Willis Tower, Chicago.
Citing the positive outlook for the Philippine economy for 2025, Consul General Diano encouraged the attendees to invest in the country. She also solicited their assistance in connecting the Consulate with US companies that are interested to invest in the Philippines in the areas of food security, clean energy and business process outsourcing, among other priority industries of the government.
The Consul General also took the opportunity to seek the groups’ collaboration in the Consulate’s activities for the 127th Anniversary of Proclamation of Philippine Independence this coming June and for the 80th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Philippines and the US next year.
