Consul General Melanie Rita B. Diano met with Polish Consul General Regina Jurkowska on 24 February 2025 at the Polish Consulate General in Chicago. This is the 3rd courtesy call of Consul General Diano on her counterparts since she assumed post on 21 January 2025.

The two Consuls General discussed, among others, their respective jurisdictions and diaspora. Chicago is said to have the highest Polish population in the country and likely the most Polish metropolitan area in the world outside of Poland, and is also home to a sizeable Filipino and Filipino-American population.

Consul General Diano and Consul General Jurkowska also exchanged views on developments in the US Midwest, as well as their experiences in their previous foreign assignments.
