Consul General Melanie Rita B. Diano welcomed Ms. Bacharee Puengpak, the Kingdom of Thailand’s newly arrived Consul General in Chicago, at the Philippine Consulate on 02 March 2026. The visit served as an introductory call following Consul General Puengpak’s arrival in the city last week.

During the call, the two officials exchanged views on enhancing engagement with their respective communities, underscoring the importance of sustained outreach to effectively serve their nationals, including those residing outside Illinois. They also explored opportunities for collaborative initiatives among ASEAN missions in Chicago, aimed at strengthening the bloc’s presence and visibility in the Midwest.

Prior to her posting in Chicago, Consul General Puengpak served as the Deputy Director-General of the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs at the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs. END
