On 25 February 2025, Consul General Melanie Rita B. Diano had a virtual meeting with Trade Commissioner Benedict M. Uy of the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) based in New York. PTIC-New York is the representative office of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) covering the US Midwest.

The two (2) officials discussed the economic diplomacy priorities in the region, in line with the government’s socio-economic agenda. They had a productive conversation on the thriving industries of IT-BPM, critical minerals and manufacturing in the Philippines, among other sectors.

The PTIC also solicited the Consulate General’s support to the DTI’s premier trade promotion events: IFEX Philippines and Manila FAME. Scheduled on 22-24 May 2025 at the World Trade Center in Manila, IFEX Philippines will feature the country’s most trusted export brands for food, beverage, and ingredients. On the other hand, Manila FAME, slated on 16-18 October 2025 at the World Trade Center in Manila, will showcase quality home, fashion, and lifestyle products. END
