Consul General Melanie Rita B. Diano called on Thai Consul General Katanawadee Kalayanamit at the Royal Thai Consulate General on 27 February 2025.

During their meeting, Consul General Diano discussed the upcoming ASEAN Chairship of the Philippines in 2026, as well as future plans for collaborations with ASEAN partners in Chicago during her tenure. The two Consuls General also exchanged views on important matters relating to their respective diaspora in the US Midwest.

Aside from the Philippines, Thailand is one of the only two (2) ASEAN Member States that has a Consulate General in Chicago.END
