During her first official travel to Kansas, Consul General Melanie Rita B. Diano met with Filipino-American Community representatives at Hawthorn Extended Stay in Wichita on 28 February 2025 to check on their welfare and condition. The casual meeting was organized by the Filipino American Association of Greater Wichita, headed by its president, Ms. Merci Mancao.

The group thanked the Consul General for her visit and mentioned that the Filipinos and Filipino-Americans in Wichita and its surrounding suburbs, numbering around 1,000, are doing well.

Consul General Diano took the opportunity to invite the attendees to the 2025 VIP Tour scheduled this July and reminded them to cast their votes for the 2025 National Elections starting in April 2025. She also assured them of the Consulate’s readiness to provide support and appropriate assistance to their respective endeavors.END
