CONSUL GENERAL RECEIVES MEMBERS OF PNAI, INC., DISCUSSES PROSPECTS FOR COLLABORATION

Consul General Melanie Rita B. Diano received the officers and members of the Philippine Nurses Association of Illinois Inc. (PNAI, Inc.), led by its President, Mr. Dean Baron, and its President-elect, Ms. Milagros Cortes, on 04 March 2025 at the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago. Consuls Melvin C. Almonguera, Ma. Theresa M. Alders, and Ella Karina R. Mitra also joined the call.

During the call, Mr. Baron presented an overview of the organization, its history, and its various activities that include seminars, medical missions, fundraising activities, and community events. Mr. Baron also highlighted the recognition that the organization received in October last year from Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson for theirsignificant contributions and commitment to public health.

Building on PNAI, Inc.’s enthusiasm and commitment to collaborate on health and wellness initiatives, the Consul General discussed ways on how the Consulate and PNAI, Inc. can work together to promote the well-being of the members of the Filipino community in the US Midwest..

PNAI, Inc., founded in 1957, is the oldest Filipino nursing organization in North America. It is a 501(c)(3) organization and is the official chapter of the PH Nurses Association of America in the state of Illinois.END
