Consul General Melanie Rita B. Diano met with the Filipino American Historical Society of Chicago (FAHSC) President, Mr. Ruben Salazar, and former President of the International Society of Filipinos in Finance and Accounting (ISFFA), Mr. Jan Paul Ferrer, on 11 March 2025 at the Consulate. Consul General Diano was accompanied by Consuls Melvin Almonguera, Ma. Theresa Alders, and Ella Karina Mitra.

During the meeting, Mr. Salazar and Mr. Ferrer briefed the Consul General on their respective organization’s past and present activities, which includes the annual Piyesta Pinoy and the Filipino Restaurant Week. They also discussed their future events and sought the Consulate’s support and partnership.

For her part, Consul General Diano reaffirmed the Consulate’s support to initiatives that effectively promote and mainstream Filipino culture and heritage, as well as events that bring Filipino communities closer together. She also solicited the support of Mr. Salazar and Mr. Ferrer to the Consulate’s future events, particularly for next year during the 80 th anniversary of Philippines-US relations..END
