Consul General Melanie Rita B. Diano met with the officers of the Philippine Independence Week Committee (PIWC), led by Dra. Nida Blankas-Hernaez, on 13 March 2025 at the Consulate.

The main agenda of the meeting was to plan the two major community events which the PIWC is organizing to commemorate the 127th Anniversary of Philippine Independence. Consul General Diano has committed the support and partnership of the Consulate in ensuring the success of these two events.

The PIWC serves as an umbrella organization for several Filipino and Filipino-American associations with the goal of annually marking the anniversary of Philippine Independence.END
