PHILIPPINE OFFICIALS ENCOURAGE FILIPINO-AMERICAN ENTREPRENEURS TO ADVANCE PHILIPPINE INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Consul General Melanie Rita Diano and Trade Commissioner Alma Argayoso of the Philippine Trade and Investment Center, New York (PTIC-NY) met with select members of the Filipino-American business community in Chicago last 12 November. Organized by Mr. Jan Paul Ferrer, Senior Vice President of Morgan Stanley and Board Member of the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Chicago (PACCGC), the gathering, held at the University Club of Chicago, convened some fifteen (15) Filipino business leaders to promote stronger collaboration and engagement within the community.

In her remarks, the Consul General paid tribute to Filipino-American entrepreneurs in the Chicago metro and urged them to promote the PHL as a viable investment destination for US-based companies. Ms. Argayoso, for her part, highlighted the Philippines’ priority sectors for foreign investment and underscored the enduring economic ties between the two countries.

The event also featured a discussion on establishing and growing Filipino-American businesses in the area, with panelists Mr. Randy Farmacion of Homeland Realty and Mr. Richard Felicidad of StarLab Corp. sharing key insights and the challenges they faced throughout their entrepreneurial journeys.
