21 April 2023 (Chicago) – A delegation from the Philippines met with the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Chicago (PACCGC) at the Metropolitan Club at Willis Tower on 19 April 2023 to discuss possible collaboration on economic initiatives and chamber projects.

Consul General J. Susana V. Paez introduced the delegation – led by Department of Trade and Industry Undersecretary for Competitiveness and Innovation Dr. Rafaelita M. Aldaba, Philippine Economic Zone Authority Director General Tereso O. Panga, Department of Information and Communications Technology Director Emmylou Delfin, and Trade Commissioner Benedict Uy – to PACCGC officers and members. The members of the delegation expressed earnest interest in exploring possible opportunities with the chamber, including business missions, participation in chamber activities, and the possibility of chamber members’ enterprises making the Philippines part of their value chain.

PACCGC Vice President Emil Bernardo, who also serves as Federation of Philippine American Chambers of Commerce (FPACC) vice president, thanked the delegation for the visit, and suggested the conduct of information sessions to further promote trade and investment opportunities. PACCGC President Emeritus and FPACC Treasurer Cindy Flores noted prospects for collaboration, including the annual FPACC national conference. PACCGC member and Morgan Stanley Senior Vice President Jan Paul Ferrer, who hosted the luncheon at the Metropolitan Club, welcomed the delegation to Chicago and showcased the scenic views from Willis (formerly Sears) Tower, which was the world’s tallest building for nearly 25 years.
