The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago held a book reading and signing event with Filipino-American award-winning author Mia Manansala on 09 August 2024 at the Consulate’s Kalayaan Hall. The event is the first in the series of book reading and signing events that the Consulate is arranging to celebrate and support Filipina voices in literature, and is in line with its Cultural and Gender and Development objectives.
09 August 2024 (Chicago) – An inter-agency delegation comprised of members of the Philippine National Biofuels Board (NBB) conducted numerous site visits across the State of Illinois on 05-08 August 2024 as part of their US Ethanol Study Tour organized by the US Grains Council and the Illinois Corn Marketing Board.
08 August 2024 (Chicago) – An inter-agency delegation comprised of members of the Philippine National Biofuels Board (NBB), accompanied by representatives of the US Grains Council and the Illinois Corn Marketing Board, called on Consul General J. Susana V. Paez on 06 August 2024 at the National Louis University, which is located in the same building as the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago.
As part of its celebration of the 126th Anniversary of Philippine Independence, the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, together with the Rizal Center’s Pamana Children’s Library, held an interactive food activity entitled “Tara, Kain Tayo!” on 21 June 2024 at the Consulate’s Kalayaan Hall.
CHICAGO 20 June 2024 – On 14 June 2024, Consul General J. Susana V. Paez, together with the members of the Knights of Rizal (KOR) and Consulate personnel, led the flag raising ceremony and wreath laying at the monument of Dr. Jose Rizal in Margate Park in commemoration of the 126th Anniversary of Philippine Independence.
CHICAGO 20 June 2024 - The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, led by Consul General J. Susana V. Paez, celebrated the 126th Philippine Independence Day, with the theme “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan,” on 14 June 2024 at the Consulate’s Kalayaan Hall.
CHICAGO 21 May 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago conducted a consular outreach mission and a field Overseas Voting (OV) Registration on 18 May 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church Gymnasium 1115 N Campbell Ave, Springfield, Missouri 65802 (some 520 miles away from the Consulate General). The event was the first-ever outreach activity in Springfield, Missouri, since previous consular missions were held in other cities of the state.
24 April 2024 (Chicago) - A delegation from the Philippine Department of Agriculture (DA), together with officials from the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, met with officials of the US Department of Agriculture Midwest Regional Office on 17 April 2024 at the federal building on 77 West Jackson Boulevard in downtown Chicago.
CHICAGO 23 April 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago conducted a consular outreach mission and a field Overseas Voting (OV) Registration on 20 April 2024 at the Philippine Center Minnesota, 1380 Frost Ave., Maplewood, Minnesota 55109 (some 400 miles away from the Consulate General), which provided more than 400 services.
22 April 2024 (Chicago) - A Philippine delegation comprised of officials from the Department of Agriculture (DA), with the assistance of the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, conducted market scanning activities in various business sites in Chicago on 16 April 2024.23 April 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, with the assistance of the Fil-Minnesotan Association, conducted an in-person Post-Arrival Orientation Seminar (PAOS) for Filipino teachers and leaders of the Filipino community in Minnesota. The seminar was held on 19 April 2024 at the Philippine Center in Maplewood, Minnesota, and was attended by about 40 teachers under the US Exchange Visitor Program (EVP) or the J-1 Program and FilCom leaders/members.

18 April 2024 (Chicago) – The Philippines, through the Department of Agriculture and with the support of the Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C. – Office of the Agriculture Counsellor and the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, participated in the 2024 Specialty Coffee Expo held at McCormick Place, Chicago, Illinois, USA on 12-14 April 2024.
Chicago 15 April 2024 - Consul General J. Susana V. Paez administered the oath of office of Atty. Marcus S. Evangelista as Consul, ad honorem, of the Republic of the Philippines to Detroit, Michigan on 11 April 2024 at the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, Illinois. He was appointed as PH Honorary Consul by Secretary for Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo.
CHICAGO 26 March 2024 - In cooperation with the US Small Business Administration (SBA) and Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Office of Minority Economic Empowerment (DCEO-OMEE), and with the participation of the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Chicago (PACCGC) and the Chicago Asian Network (CAN), the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago organized the “Small Business Seminar for Home Health Care and Food Establishment Entrepreneurs and Business Owners” at the National Louis University on 21 March 2024.

CHICAGO 18 March 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago conducted its first consular mission for the year and a field Overseas Voting (OV) Registration on 16 March 2024 at the Philippine-American Cultural and Civic Center, 1975 W Ridgewood Dr, Parma, Ohio 44134 (some 343 miles away from the Consulate General).
The Consulate General in Chicago, led by Consul General J. Susana V. Paez, and in coordination with PH Honorary Consul Dr. Susan Gumabao-Flores, organized a Community Dialogue on 15 March 2024 at the Philippine-American Cultural and Civic Center in Parma, Ohio.
Chicago, 16 February 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago launched the 2024 Very Important Pinoy (VIP) Tour on 16 February 2024 at the Atrium of the National Louis University in Chicago, IL. The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, represented by Consul Ella Karina Mitra and Property Officer Joseph Alcantara, joined the annual Kickoff Celebration by the Philippine Independence Week Committee (PIWC) in Schiller Park, IL on 27 January 2024.
